xenon headlight warning

RE: xenon headlight warning
You really need to get a scan tool hooked up to scan for faults. A vagcom will work too. If both headlights work i would look into the level sensors. There is a front and rear on the drivers side suspensions. You can do a quick visual to check for a sensor not connected to the suspension arm or a wire damage.

Thanks for the reply, ill have A look under the car suspension arms and try to locate the sensors. Any suggestions as to where the sensors are located? also if it helps, the warning light and beep occurs every time I start the car right after I move the gear from park to reverse or drive even when the headlights are turned off..
what would you recomend I get for a scan tool or vagcom and where could I buy one? e-bay?

The sensors are usually attached to the lower control arms and the body. Shaped like a z or l with piviots that move the arm attached to the body up and down. As for the scan tool, a generic scan tool probably wont scan the control module where these faults would be stored. Ross tech seems to be the most popular vag com brand. You can get info from theyre website. The software goes on a laptop or pc and uses a cable. If you purchase a cable, i think theres a shareware version of the software available for free.
