Short Life of Ribbed Belt in Q7?
Hi all. I have a 2010 Q7 which i shipped out to India when I was posted here for my current assignment. The car suddenly had a breakdown last week with the power steering dying out and an "Alternator' light flashing on the display screen. The Audi garage checked it and said the "Ribbed Belt" had broken and needed replacement along with some pulleys etc.
I was shocked as the car has done just about 52,000 kms - some online forums suggested that the belt does NOT need changing before 80,000 MILES. So I am now unsure whether Audi is simply trying to make money for changing what might have been a defective part??
Appreciate any quick responses please. THANKS
