Default "0.0" button broken on SQ5 2014. Part available?

The 0.0 button on the instrument cluster of my 2014 SQ5 broke off clean, so that only the part that goes into the instrument cluster is still there. The top little bit of plastic is gone, and I can't find it. My dealer and local repair shop tells me I have to replace the entire instrument cluster (at $1700!).

I've considered 3d printing something or fabricating a new button.

Any recommendations for what I should do?

you could try the auto salvage place or like you say, make your own. there are many solutions. you can buy epoxy clay at home depot that you can form to any shape. Once hard you can spray paint it and use some decent clue to connect it.
