2012 Q5 Buzzing dashboard
We just recently purchased the 2012 Q5 3.2 prestige. We love all the bells and whistles but we fear they are coming at a cost unknown to us at the time of purchase. About a month after we took her home, we started noticing a loud buzzing sound coming from the driver side dashboard area when we start up the car. It sounds like something electrical is warming up. At first this sound lasted for about 30 to 40 seconds then went away. Just recently the sound has been lasting longer and is happening when the car is warmed up. Has anyone else out there experienced this?
I have a 2012 Q5 2.0T and noticed the same thing. It suddenly happened about 2 weeks after I picked up the car. The buzzing sound is coming from somewhere around steering wheel/gauge area. It usually happens during first few minutes after a cold start. The sound is loud enough to hear it especially during acceleration but kind of quite down when the cabin warms up. I had the same buzzing/rattle sound in the same area in my previous A4.
I haven't bring it to dealer yet; thinking about doing it during 5k miles service also need to take care sunroof and pano roof rattle issue. But like I posted in AW forums, I am a bit of worry if dealer need to open up dashboard/instrument panel because the surface might get scratches. I actually don't trust dealer to touch my car at all. They are always careless and don't treat your car right.
