2014 Q5 and engine question
#2
I have never driven one but have something to share. When I was at our sister store selling Porsche parts we had one for sure, maybe two, customers come in frustrated with the V6 in their Cayenne, year range around 08 so it was the early version V6. They bought a V8 version soon after so it could make hills easier and tow. I know that's where you are going with your question, but if you tow at all, or like to drive your car in any sort of sporting manner (not that the 2.0 isn't sufficient in that area) then you should drive both of them. I do talk to a lot of people with the 2.0 in their sedans and allroads and they have all loved the engine, different rig than a Q5 though.

The choice really comes down to your driving preferences. If your Q5 will be hauling you, passengers, and gear, I would think the extra power of the 3.0 would come in handy. If you want to know that you'll have plenty of power for passing, then the 3.0 would again come in handy. $3000 over the life of the car (say you finance for 5 years comes to $50 per month (not including any interest)).
