I have a 2018 Q7 and when I test drove the car the MMI screen went down when it was turned off while driving. When my car arrived they told me the option for it to go down while driving was changed part way through the model year, and now the screen only shuts off and does not go down when the car is on. The screen does go down when the car is off and comes up when the car is turned on. With the virtual cockpit, I see no need for the MMI screen 90% of the time and it was something I specifically checked on the test drive and I find it very frustrting.

Does anyone know how to get the software back to the previous mode where the screen shutoff and retracted when turned off?

I bought an ODBeleven and was hoping to figure it out through that, but no luck so far.
