2008 Q7 Radio won't turn off after key removed
We just had our Q7 in for its 35,000 mile service. Now when we shut off the car and remove the key, the radio stays on, even after opening the door. If we reinsert the key, turn it halfway, then remove , the radio then shuts off.
It never did this until the recent service...any ideas or suggestions? I called the dealer and they had no clue...

I've got this issue as well on my 2007 Q7, but it doesn't happen *all* the time. I mentioned it to my dealer when I took it in for some other warranty work. On pickup, the service tech said while they couldn't reproduce the issue, but had order another ignition barrel for me anyway. He said that they had another Q7 with a similar issue a few weeks back, and they had replaced the ignition barrel to fix it.
I'm waiting on the parts to arrive, so can't tell if the replacement fixes the problem or not, but it's worth following up with your dealer.
One line of argument would be that it worked fine before the service, so what happened to break it?

To follow-up on this issue, my dealer replaced the ignition barrel switch, and now the car ignition off when the key is removed, as designed.
The repair was done under warranty, so no idea of the cost, but the service docket shows the following:
Fault: Check when ignition is off, lights & radio stays on.
Cause: Internal failure of ignition switch.
Repair: Removed and replaced switch, checked tested all ok.
Parts: AD4F0910132C - SWITCH.
Hope this helps.
