Hi, Newby here and don't like my first post to be about an issue with the 2011 s line Q7, but here it is. The car is about a month old, love the way it drives and rides, super nice. We had an A6 years ago and really liked it, it was also very dependable.

To the issue, the mechanic says the drive shafts, at least the front needs to be replaced and the back is going. This seems strange to me, car only has 90K miles. Everything else appears golden on the car.

Does anyone know if this is a known issue on this car? Going to look for an extended warranty. I am also going to ask the dealer (Jim Ellis) where we bought the car from if something can be worked out. Having the car a month and having this happen sucks. Especially since it appears the repair cost may be 2 thousand or more.

I'll have to do some more searching on the forum, but it appears the front and rear drive shaft are going. Does not seem common to me...be interested to hear if anyone else has had a similar issue. I did see on another Audi forum that the 17 model may have something going on with at least a similar noise and location on vehicle.


I am probably re-plowing some ground that's already been discussed.
