Folks, Help me please.

1. Is new Q7 2011 premium-plus (51K+ttl) worth it? vs Acura MDX Tech-pkg (44K+ttl) - ie a 7K difference?

- Note Acura has higher HP 300 hp vs Q7 272 HP

2. Is it true I have to spend 3K every 10-15K miles to change tires/break-pads/sensors for Q7 and not for MDX/BMW-X5?

- I spoke to 4 audi service folks and they said "it depends on your drive" pattern...not sure what does it mean?

- Couple Audi salesmen said -- yep, Acura tires will last 30-40K miles but Audi wont for the same driver/pattern - what??

3. Can you share your "horror" story of dealing with Audi dealership to address your audi issues under warrenty?

4. Why Audi is known for its realibility issues vs BMW/Acura?

Saving my all pennies to buy my dream car - Q7 yet, worried about realibility issues - so veterans - please HELP me, please..

The Q7 is a more superior car hence the increased running costs associated with driving the machine , I own a 2008 for the past 2 years and have not found a single thing wrong until now (another time) simple issue.
Have you considered making your saving work for yourself by considering an ex-demo vehicle saving you around the equivalent against the lesser Acura ??
The decision is yours but I would strongly advise the test drive of a Q7 for a weekend from your local dealer and see how you live with the Q7 ??? then perhaps the same with the Acura.

i've been keeping an eye on the Q7 since it came out and it's on my shopping list.

1. you can't compare apples to oranges. you always get what you pay for. the cheaper japanese knock-offs are inferior to the audi in every way. i was driving next to an acura one night and as we drove over the same creases in the road, his zenon lights were flapping up and down on the car in from and mine were rock solid and steady. it's these little "solid" things that i appreciate. nothing beats the quattro, german suspension, quality and safety. german cars are built to autobahn standards-which is unique.

2. complete rubbish.

3. i had very minor warranty issues regarding the stereo and one of the headlight washer jets. it was promptly taken care of without any questions. my experiences with the dealership have been very good.

4. the reliability issues are a myth. they had electrical issues in the 80s and i think that stigma has lingered. i'm reluctant to buy anything other than an audi since i bought mine. i've been in the other cars and they are not impressive to me at all. the audi spoils you. i'd recommend you test drive all the makes and see for yourself.

 

Austinaudiq7: audi q7 2011 is worth buying as the interiors include the MMI(Multi media interface) with seating comforts and priced substantially well with the base model starting just at $48000....!!!!
