new Q7 272hp mpg performance
Hi All,
I've been driving a new shape Q7 from local Audi dealership 3.0 V6 272hp unit and the car is just amazing. Very smooth, quiet and luxurious interior. The car is an absolute hit and great value compared to the competition e.g. Porsche Cayenne Diesel, Range Rover Sport HSE and Merc GLE 350d.
However, I am seriously concerned that the stated mpg for this car is between 42 - 48 mpg and combined of 45 mpg. The demo car has over 4000 miles and the average mpg from the trip computer is 27mpg.
I did a test drive on a mix of city and faster motorway doing 25 miles or so and the car averaged 25 mpg. I could tolerate that real world usage is not going to achieve 45 mpg but I am concerned that the car is only delivering 25 mpg.
Does anyone have experience of similar new shape Audi Q7 and the mpg figures. I'm just wondering if this is just an issue with the demonstrator or that the recent VW emissions scandal has led to retuning the Q7 engines and a result the engines now comply with the emission laws but the compromise is the mpg fuel efficiency.
Thoughts and experiences welcome!
