Default Sirius Activation

I leased a Q7 in Dec 08. My free trial subscription to Sirius just expired last week as I lost my signal. I got online with Sirius that evening and set up my account, paid my subscription fees and tried to re-activate the radio. I have been unsuccessful now with multiple attempts to receive a new activation signal from Sirius. I have tried it in various locations, (always with a clear view to the sky). I even took the Q7 back to the Audi Dealership here in Jacksonville but there Service Dept was unsuccessful in getting the radio re-activated. I have spent a good 4 hours on the phone with the foreign speaking call center associates at Sirius and none of them have a clue how to speak clear english nor do they know what to advise me to do. They have a canned routine that they tell you to try and that is it. The Audi Dealership even removed the fuse from the radio circuit to let the radio re-boot and re-set and I am still unable to receive a good activation signal. Does anyone have an suggestions that I might try? Thanks in advance. Mrklng

Did you ever find a solution to this? I'm having the exact same problem with my sirius subscription in my A4 Avant. I can't change the channel to their desired channel 184 for reactivation, as all I get is a screen telling me to call Sirius..

I have an S5 and had a similar issue when I went online and added a plan. The car was stuck on the Contact Sirius message, and calls to Sirius was a frustrating hold.

Then I did the following, based on my experience with XM Satellite portable player. Logged into my Sirius account, found the ESNthat I registered a plan for, and under there was a button to:

Re-Send Activation Signal – This option allows you to re-send an activation request to your receiver in case you missed it and your receiver is not active.

I drove the car around for about an hour listening to the radio, and sometime during that hour period, the radio in the car found the satellite, because when I happened to get switch back to the satellite, it was reactivated.

There's two things to keep in mind for satellite that no one can explain properky to me yet:

- activation signals sometimes need to be resent; doing it online is painless. Doing it via Sirius customer service is a disservice.
- radios pick up the activation signal better when they are moving around, rather than stationary, and definitely not indoors (in a garage) or facing away frmo the satellites. I'm in Canada so satellites facing north will not get an activation signal very well.

Anyways, this is what worked for me. Don't try to get help from Sirius!

I had the same problem with my 2007 Audi A6. After the 1 month free subscription, I went online to renew for a year, and had no luck, with the activation signal they sent, I even went on line and tried myself. After talking with 5 different reps, and no luck I was just getting ready to cancel my subscription. When I spoke with another rep, who suggested giving me another month of demo service and as he did that my signal came in. So what he is saying is that that the package I choose might not be compatible with my car's receiver. So I'm suppose to have it free for another month and after the month we'll see if it rolls over into my subscription. If not the rep is saying I might have to pick another package. (MOSTLY MUSIC)This is the package I picked...
