Just picked up a 2009 Q7 w/out the trailer hitch option. Want to purchase an aftermarket hitch which looks as good as the factory. Any suggestions??

 

Id just get factory. We did for our touareg, I wouldnt want to trust aftermarket on that thing. You get a whole new bumper (the steel part under the skin) that bolts up with 4 bolts on each side. It is a very impressive piece! Since it is bolted directly to the unibody, it needs to be exact. We paid about $500 from vw, I doubt the VW part is the same as the Audi with the longer wheel base but it could be, I would just get a good relationship with the parts person at your dealer, then you can get a discount on parts Also, the job is a PITA, tail lights come out, bumper comes off, and its a biatch to get to the wire connector to hook up the lights. You need to plan at least a full day to do this job, just in case you run into problems. Good luck!
