02 tt turbo kit
Im new here and have found nothing on this so Im going to give it a shot. I found a turbo kit on ebay to fit my year model TT. It says that it has the turbo manifold and it is a direct fit to my car. Also, it says it has a BOV but I know my car has a diverter valve. I thought the car wouldnt run right without the Diverter valve? Do other expensive turbo kits use a BOV or DV? I know the quality of the Ebay turbo isnt like some others but I am pressed for money and want to add some power. Would it be worth the $600-$700? I plan to get my car remaped soon but I want as big of power as I can afford. Wont the ebay turbo be better than the stock omne?

Don't buy an ebay turbo kit, spend the money on a nice tune for your car or other QUALITY mod parts. All you have to do is skim through the forum and you'll find nothing but BAD BAD news. The only way I'd buy an "ebay" turbo, is if it was a genuine kkk borg warner from an individual seller and it was new. If you're going to replace the turbo for more power, spend the money on a nice frankenturbo or other quality setup, do it the right way and only once. With an ebay turbo, I guarantee 10k miles in, you'll be replacing a blown turbo. The TT also doesn't like the Blow off valve, people have luck running 50/50 atmospheric splitter diverter valves for a functioning diverter and the blow off valve noise. But unless you've got a ton of money in the motor, and have a big turbo, the blow off valve is going to do nothing but hurt your car. Just my 2 cents !

Ok, let's put it this way... The kit cost the same as a real journal bearing turbo alone and everything is universal, not a bolt on. Not to mention when you get it installed it will break a week or so later. Just stay away.

no where. Now read the stickies before you ruin the car or put yourself in a massive hole

$3500 would be on the low side. Also, that doesn't include rods or the install of them to keep the motor together or the money for the clutch to put the power down or even the intercooler upgrade needed. Like I said, if you can't afford it, don't start messing with stuff. It's never ending. Just stick with the basic mods in the FAQ and enjoy the car. It will be plenty fast and reliable

I completely agree with cincyTT, I want to be as blunt as possible without making you mad, but if you can't afford to do it the right way, don't do it at all. I've seen it a ton of times, where someone cheaps out on a turbo kit from a place such as ebay and they end up putting in so much money to replace it with another turbo and other engine parts that failed because of it.
