Default turbo might need replacement

just bought an audi tt quattro with 138k miles beutiful shape i took it to get an oil change to the dealer and have it inspected and they told me i needed a new turbo because it is making noise. obviously i already put a lot of money into buying the car and the dealer wants 4,500 to exchange the turbo. what exactly do they mean by changing the turbo will that only be the circle looking thing? and what else do i need to get?. im not trying to upgrade since ill definitely be more money than i really have, any sites for good turbo so not expensive? also they said front exhaust pipe but thats pretty common sense. im also taking it to an independent shop tomorrow to get their opinion

Making noise is vague. They need to pull the intake off to see if the has been contact with the housing

that's what i thought but there is a zooming sound when i go in the high way or in the street, i believe it could be the wheel bearings but i don't know what noise i should look for when they said it makes noise...also i found a local shop that can rebuild the turbo. its that recommended?

Everyone always points at turbo when something is wrong, just read the forums. It's actually pretty funny
