I'm looking forward to get a TT 1.8T manual. This would my first Audi and I really want to know what should be the things to look for. I was thinking on something around 40k to 50k mileage wise. Is this the right track? should I be concerned for high mileage on this cars? Friend of mine had one and he sold it when it was around 100 K and had no problems at all.

This seller is offering me a 2002 with 42 K manual for 14 grand.

should I get something newer? say '04 or '05.

To me that 02' sounds like a good deal. Its a quattro right?
*timing belt is the big worry for these cars. Most people on here say to change it at 70-75K. I wouldn't go any longer than that.

The tt is pretty much the same throughout the years, so year doesen't really matter. Their are 2 different 1.8L engines. One is only 180hp (has single exhust and 5 speed) the other is 225hp (6-speed, duel exhust). The 225 model is ofcourse more expensive and prefered.

The engine type, condition, and maintance reccords are all important when shopping for a tt. Keep in mind that maintance and repairs are very expensive. You may want to look into get the timing belt service done soon, as well as the other 60k mile service (because of the age).
