Default 2003 coupe autu tranny issues?

Hello, I just purchased a 2003 TT coupe with 84000 miles on it. It has a automatic tranny and I noticed that after it warms up(about 20 min of driving) it starts to really shift hard when downshifting to 2nd and 3rd gears. The guy that sold it to me said its just the cpu downshifting too soon. This is my first Audi so I really dont know much about them. So, does anyone think there is some truth to what the guy is telling me or is it just a load of bs?

Cmon ppl. Someone has got to have some sort of idea what may be causing this, or maybe a possible resolution. Could it just be a symptom of a tranny that needs flushing or am i prolly lookin at a more expensive solution. Im trying to find out because I just bought it friday and am gonna cause a ruckus if its my tranny dying. Again, it starts acting up after it warms up 15-20 min of standard city driving. So, please any ideas are helpful.
