2003 TT resurrection- Purchased as DOA
Hello Group..
My name is Kenneth.. This is my first dip into the Audi pool..
I bought a as-is unknown TT.
Its a:
2003 TT. 1.8T - Convertible - white- 168k- well Used. .But not abuse- No service history.
Status:
1. No dash/cluster lights,
2. No crank.
Repairs made:
1. New Battery
2. Dash/cluster fuse wiring found melted behind fuse box. Remote fuse wired in. Dash/cluster now working.
3. Inspected main fusible links inspected.. Alt 150 amp blown.. Common? What does this mean?
4. Still No start.. Planning to test starter by jumping to starter trigger wire.
5. Low priority.. I found the passenger floor board is WET- yuck.. Are there front cowl drains I should inspect? IF yes.. Where?

So it runs, shifts and drives ok? Now you have the heavy maintenance ahead:
Timing belt, tensioner, water pump, thermostat (several good vids and forum posts on this)
trans service
fuel filter
brake check for wear and rust
And the inevitable electrical gremlins.
Well done so far!
