About to purchase a TT, what do I need to look for?
I was recently the victim of an accident where I was not at fault, but it totaled my truck(pic). After test driving many sports car, I came across a TT by chance and decided to drive it. I test drove a 2002 Audi TT Coupe quattro 225 and fell in love. I'm in the market for a used car and looking for a car with around 50k miles and trying to keep it under $16,000. The only part that worries me about this car is that it is an Audi and it will probably be expensive to maintain. Can I get some input on what commonly goes wrong on the TT. And what should I expect to go wrong? Is there anything I need to look out for when looking at a TT? I work on cars alot and nothing really scares me about it, except the price of parts and maintence.
Finally, how many use your TT as your daily driver? and what mpg can I expect on the highway?
Thanks alot, I really appreciate your input prior to me purchasing. sorry for so many questions.
P.S. anyone with a TT coupe quattro 225 want to sell?
I've got an '04 quattro coupe, so can't really help you on the maintenance, etc.
I would definitely do a carfax check on the car and would consider getting it Audi Certified. I think that gets you like a 6yr 100k mile warranty or something (not positive on the specs).
With any used car, I'd expect to spend some dough on problems. You're right though, they will be a bit more $$$ on a german car.
I use my TT as a daily driver. Great highway mileage, over 30mpg.
Hope that helps...
