Default Acceleration weakens!

Hello,

I have finally drove around in nurburgring this Tuesday! Then I noticed that my TT (1.8T yr2000) was going fast with good acceleration at first. As I drove on for 6 minutes or so with excessive braking and constant full throttle acceleration, I noticed acceleration was getting weaker. I am wondering if it's the turbo that just can't provide more punch simply because it's old? or could there be some other possible causes? The mileage is about 10,000 Km. The temperature seemed fine on the Temp gauge. Enough engine oil. The timing belt have been replaced already a year ago. Mods I have done which could have any relations include : chip, Remus exhaust, downpipe, Forge splitter (Full-recirculation set up). Any advice (including wild guess) would be appreciated.

Regards,

Ken

I would guess you have a boost leak.

does you RPM's go up and you get no acceleration?
If it is I just had a similar problem my car was too slow on take off and whenever i wanted acceleration i got very little, with the rpms going going up...
turned out to be my clutch i replaced it and now it runs like a champ
i have a 2000 1.8 as well.
good luck

Hey guys, thank you all for the tips. I have just made an appointment with the people who chipped my car and they gonna check if anything is wrong with my car on next wednesday. I briefly explained the sympton over the phone and the guy think it's likely the intercooler getting too hot. I will keep you guys updated after the thorough check up.

Hi, I have gone to the garage. They checked through ECU setting and other stuff by connecting laptop to my TT. They found my LAMBDA sensor (the 1st one) is faulty. So that needs to be changed. The guy also suggested I change Intercooler if I get a chance. The air temp goes up to around 60 C degrees, while it should stay around 20 to 30 C degrees. He also suggested to change FPR (Fuel Pressure Regulator) from 3bar to 4bar. So I have it ordered on http://www.worldcarparts.co.uk/CarPa...8/Default.aspx

According to them, there really isn't any serious problem with my car. Checked around hoses for leak in engine bay, but nothing weird was found.

Now I have to look for how to replace FPR and look for good deal on a LAMBDA sensor.
I will change the intercooler, but not high priority for now. Maybe in the future when I also want to change the turbo.. some day.
