Default Anti-sway bars

Has anyone installed any aftermarket Anti-sway bars on their TT 225s, preferably a convertible as they tend to understeer a bit more with the stock set up. If so can you tell me what you think of them, what other suspension mods you have ( I currently only have the KW sport shock and spring kit) and how the install was. Being a Navy officer I have access to every tool and lift imaginable.

XLR8TT gerenally says a 19mm OEM euro-spec rear bar makes the handling neutral.

I'm going to get a 21mm H&Rto startas I tend to like a bit of oversteer and its a few bucks cheaper. If it makes the car feel too loose, theres a few aftermarket options for the front as well.

All TT's tend toward understeer from the factory (Roadster and Coupe alike). Getting the right feel is a personal thing based on your driving style. I tend to go into corners a bit hot, so I like to be able to whip the tail around.

If you're not sure I'd say start with the 19mm from ECS to be on the safe side.

The 19mm Neuspeed and the 21mm H&R are virtually identical in how they perform. The difference is that the H&R is "adjustable" giving you two mounting points for the connecting links. Given that, they both will make the car neutral handling with tire pressures equal front and rear.

The other option is the the 22mm Neuspeed rear, which really needs to be matched up with the 25mm front bar to keep handling under control. The 22mm by itself will make the oversteer almost to the point of instability

I am just thinking of getting the 19" just for the rear, this make the car neutral right?

You can find the Neuspeed's at TT Stuff

The heavy duty ones that XCLR8TT mentions you can get at AWE Tuning

IMHO you will be spending more $$ than you need to. I've got well over 3000 track miles on mine with the 19mm Rear and a Koni Sport coilover setup. The car handles very neutral and rotates very well when I want it to. But it's your choice.

Got a question, Steve- on the H&R bars theAWE site sez:
"All H&R swaybars use a teflon mesh lined bushing to eliminate squeaking under movement and the need for periodic lubrication. Trust us when we say that this is a terrific idea!"

Do sway bars need greasing?

most swaybars that use standard urethane bushings need to get a shot of lithium greas from time to time to cure creaking, graoning, and/or popping.
