A few weeks back, I drove route 51 in upstate ny up thru the Ilion Gorge. Very scenic if you enjoy looking at trees on the sides of really steep hills. It does make for a very twisty 6 mile ride.

Anyway, i'm trying to upload it with google video, but its taking forever with a high speed connection despite its 36mb size. I'm wondering if thats the norm, or if it just keeps 'hanging', which is a problem i often get transfering files with instant messanger. Although, that could be a different problem, considering I use Gaim, and everyone else uses Aim. Gaim, btw, isn't google based like some would think, but Gnome based, aka, Linux.

 

The typical "Hi Speed" connection is only high speed in the download direction. Uploads are throttled at something like 10% of the speed. Go to dslreports.com to test your connection.

 

Download Speed: 4813 kbps (601.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 351 kbps (43.9 KB/sec transfer rate)

At that speed a 36 MB file will upload in something like 14 minutes.

 

It was a good 15-20min, and it timed out or whatever, status bar never showed more than 20%.
I got the 'page cannot be displayed' crap.

I'll have to find somewhere else to do it, maybe try google again sometime in the future.
