AUDI Concert radio - unlock code ????
Hello
I bought a 2003 Audi TT Convertible - second/third owner.
VIN: TRUTC28N531004890
I have changed out the battery and now I need the unlock code for the radio
I haven't a clue how to remove the radio to find the serial number of the radio ... any way you can tell by the VIN?
Thanks in advance.

It's not on the radio, or else it would be pointless. They have an unlock code to deter thieves from taking the radio out of your car. Honestly, I don't think that happens a lot anymore since the cost of the radios have gone down, but whatever.
Anyway, the code is 4 digits and it's printed on a card inside the car's manual. You can also go to a dealership to get the code.

Dealerships charge ...
The dealership claims they have to have the car in their shop to "hook it up" electronically to give you the code BUT it will cost $60 to "hook it up".
I knew the code was NOT on the radio but the serial number of the radio is another way of finding out what the code is ... buy looking up the serial number there should be a four digit code that is assigned to that radio.
I was asking if there was a way around paying the dealership and away around pulling the radio out.
Thanks

I changed the battery for my 2000 TT and had the same problem, ($60 dealer cost). I bought my car second hand and the previous owner told me in didn't come with any "books". You can imagine my chagrin when I found the "books" under the steering wheel! Most manufactures leave them in the glove box...!

Is there a 'blind smily' icon?
