They will ask for the Vin number and as long as the radio is stock to that vehicle, the code they give you will work. And its FREEEEEEEEEEE. No charges from dealers or anything!

You could give this a try. Never used it myself but they make big claims You would have to pull the radio to get the serial number. The serial number is probably available via VagCom so if you can find someone local who can "hook it up" for you that might be your best bet if you arent comfortable pulling the radio out.
