Hi Guys,

My new audi TT 2001 does not have a working remote, Anyone knows how much does a new one run into ? and how much it takes to reprogram it.

If you have the key FOBs try replacing the batteries and re-synchronizing the FOB using the steps from this link

https://www.audiforums.com/forum/aud...1/#post1366108

Else you could buy a used FOB from Ebay and re-synchronize it.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Fenrong,

Great info.
Where is the easiest place to get these remote batteries at?

The batteries size used in the OEM FOB is CR1620. They could be purchased from most stores. Here is an example.

Amazon.com: CR1620

just get an OEM Uncut key off Ebay, about $60 (Must be OEM or dealer won't cut it). Take it to your audi or vw dealer to get cut (bring your old key as a template). It will be about $13.

To program it to work with your immobilizer system you need to buy Vag-Tacho for up to 2001 cars, or VAG K+CAN 1.4 Commander for 2002+ for $21.

Once you have the SKS / PIN retrieval tool, follow the screenshots in the post off of this page (requires one post before you can view it)
VW immobilizer 3 troubleshooting and general information

Grand total for new key, key cutting, immobilizer programming $94 or dealer it will be $250-300. You can then program the doors using the instructions above.
