Default 2000 Audi A4 Remote Key Not Working.

Ok so I decided to change the batteries on my 2000 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro.

I changed the batteries on both remotes. After that the keys wouldn't lock or unlock my doors at all (Both keys showed the same results) Mind you 1 worked flawless, no problems at all (You could tell the battery was going to go out soon).

I read about reprogramming the key (Will paste directions at the end) and what not but my 1 issue is I have a driver side door that doesn't belong to my Audi since they tried stealing my car. I replaced it with someone else's door who was parting their A4 out.

The only way I am able to get into my car is by physically sticking the key into the trunk and turning it counter clockwise 2 times which unlocks everything.

Can someone please tell me why my keys are doing this!

Directions read from another forum to reprogram remote keys:
Instructions to reprogram Audi key.
"To program the remote functions on a new key, get in your car with the car off and the driver side window rolled down.

insert the new key into the ignition

insert your vallet key in the driver side door lock (outside the car)

turn the vallet key towards lock and hold it there

while it is held towards lock, press the unlock button on your new remote for
2 seconds.

let go

press it again for 2 seconds

let go and you should hear an alarm honk or something like that."

They keys have to be adapted to the system. A 5051b is needed for this.

Is the immobilizer enabled when you start the car?

Hey, I have a remote for my a4 and I just replaced the batteries but still won't work. Ppl at audi said it needs to be reprogrammed. But how do you reprogram with only one key?????
Help please want to see if I can fix so I don't have to buy a new remote
