Audi TT or a BMW 3 series
I have a TT Roadster that is my only car, and I drive about 20-30 miles to work every day. The car is comfortable, and the softtop is quiet when up. I love putting it down after work or late a night. I sometimes put it down and put the rear window up and the two sides up when it is like 35 degrees out and i put the heat on and stay perfectly warm. Wear a hat though as thats the only part that gets cold!
I love the car. Add some rims and tires, which I am in the transition period of doing so now, and the car will def. pull some ****!
BMW - Nice car, but way underpowered unless were talking about the 335 twin turbo. Thats decently quick.
The cons of the TT - The car is small. But, Like you, I dont need a big car so I am completely happy with it. And its easy to work on.
Just my .02

I looked at the G35, 3 Series BMW's, and 350Z, before I bought my TT. I'm so glad I bought the TT now. It seems like everyone and their mom has the other cars that I tested. I can go weeks w/o seeing another TT Coupe in my town, but I see the other cars usually after 2 mins behind the wheel. My car is fun, fast, good looking, and I have to say I feel a bit exclusive. I might see some TT Roadsters around, but rarely any other 225Q Coupes.

When I was shopping for my TT it came down to an 03' M3 and my 03" TT. The M3 was faster out of the box and was delicious to drive, but the TT is an iconic car. The 225 in stock form pulled nice and strong and my buddy Peter Crocker of Santa Monica VW told me about the potential that could be awakened in the TT with the right tuning.
I don't regret my TT for a millisecond. I have since found my true HP love affair with my S4, but my TT is very quick and will be more so once I get my FMIC setup for it. I was going to go BT, but I think I'm going to put that money towards an ECU upgrade and exhaust for my S4. Who knows though... one day down the road I might BT it. I just want a car that looks and drives low-key as possible. I love the whole concept of the Q-Ship.

i am in kind of the same boat as well... trying to decide betweena new 335xi or audi TT. I like the TT coupe a lot. Its cool looking, has a lot of room for cargo do to the seats folding down/hatchback, and a lot of fun to drive, esp here in germany. The 335xi has a lot of performance, but its not as good looking as ANY audi. It also has a lot of room too, and real back seats (well sort of). I would get the TT honestly. The only reason why I would get the BMW in my case is I can get it a whole lot sooner. If I end up getting a TT later, I'd just hand the BMW off to the wife heh. good luck with your decision
