So I Last night I was driving and everything seemed to be going good and then I noticed a huge decrease in power and my car started making a whining noise like the turbo was having problems. Then today I got in it to see if the problem was stillthere and the whining stopped but I had zero boost. Then I looked in the mirror and saw I was putting out a lot of blue smoke. It seems like my turbo is shot and I need to know the best way to go about replacing it, without audi raping me in parts and labor costs. I have the 2001 Audi TT 225 with the K04 Turbo everything is still completely stock.If anyone knows anything about how to get this fixed I would love your help THANKS!

 

Look at getting your turbo reconditioned or from a audi breakers.Its always risky buying a second hand turbo but doesn't cost you £630+vat exchange from audi.Also find yourself a decent mechanic who can fit it without charging the earth!

 

how many miles did you have on the TT? also, if you are looking to mod your tt to a bigger turbo in the future i would suggest you do it now...

any CELs?

 

I just barely went over 60,000 miles which is why I'm confused it shouldnt have happend that soon but it's still out of warranty

 

Maybe a turbo hose came off?

 

are you still driving it around?
