Audi TT vs BMW Z4
ORIGINAL: doadea
The Z4 and the Z3 have always been dogs...EXCEPT if they are the M series
I test drove a Z4 convertible before I purchased my TTR and it was just slooooow.

i was actually a BMW guy before the TT stole my heart, but i was very close to getting a Z3 3.0 coupe ( i actually still love the looks of those). although it was not the m-coupe, it definitely was enough to satisfy most people.
I ran a current M roadster one afternoon coming home along Rt 11s on my way from Austintown to Canfield. This was just with a 91 octane GIAC chip, nothing else. Had it been on the street off the line he would have probably walked me, but on the highway he couldn't loose me. I got a couple of car lengths ahead of him a few times and then backed off, caught up again and passed him... he'd pass me. I was having fun, he had a scowl on his facefrom what I could see.
This went onfor a few miles. I think he had more left but was shy of using it. I like theBMW roadsters and coupes, butI think the TT is a moreiconic car. I've had different BMWs and Audis over the years, but I've always come back to the Audis and now can't imagine driving anything else.

I used to love the Z3 years ago. My mother-in-law got one and she loved it. I have actually gotten sick of them and nowI can't stand the Z3. I love love love the Z4 though. I just like the TT better :-) The Z4 convertible and the TTR were the same price when i was buying my TT. I made the choice soley on performance, since I could not make up my mind otherwise. My third choice was the 350Z convertible, but my wife put the nix on that since she thought the 350Z was too "masculine" and lacked the prestige of the TT and the Z4.

Love it...
