Is this normal? After i turn the car off and start it after 10-15min the temp is past half. it goes down to the middle after i drive for 2-3 .

I have 2000 and am wondering how to check the auxiliary pump, or anyone know the location of it?

 

Also my car does the same thing. After sometime of driving and turn it off, and turn it back on about 10 min after, the temperture needle goes past the mid point but quickly backs to midpoint.

Is this something to do with the green top vs black top thing that i keep hearing about?

as long as I own my car, I never touched the temp sensor and its also year 2000,

 

no if I remember right it due to the turbo being cooled by coolant as well as oil and then when you shut the car of the hot coolant from the turbo stops circulating. Don't quote me on that though. Mine does it too by the way.

 

hmm, i thought there was an auxiliary pump on our cars to keep the circulation going after shutdown? any ideas?

 

The 225 has an after run pump in it the 180 does not. if you look at the fans the hose for it will be right between the 2 fans.

My tt also leaking water at the pump.

 

when i bought my car someone had disconnected the aux pump and never had a coolant temp issue, ever since i reconnected it, if i dont give the car some time to cool down it will start above mid point.
