Default AWD Inop.

I don't think my AWD is working. No lights. No codes. The rear wheels never move or spin. What could be wrong?

Check fuse 31, if its fine then its a Haldex problem.

What happened? Was there grinding or noise, or did it just crap out? How many miles do you have, and have you ever had a Haldex service?

I will check the fuse. No grinding. I bought it 5 months ago. Im not sure it has ever worked since I got it. We just got a lot of snow and I noticed no movement in the rear tires.

Your car is quattro, correct?

It seams like most of the time the haldex electronic controller breaks. The coulper has some clutches in it and the service changes the oil and filter for those clutches. Its required to change the oil every 40k miles, but it seams like a lot of people skip it. Either one, coulper (clutches) or electronic controller are pretty expensive. I think the coulper is close to $3k and the controller is $900 without laber for either. Might be better off keeping the awd broken.

You can get a stock Haldex controller for cheap and swap 'em, I would do that
