Default Back from the shop!

I had a check engine light come on, so i took it in to the dealership it cost me $80 for them to look at it and say it either needs a rear o2 sensor or a new cat. For them to go farther and narrow it down would be another $150. They also told me that a new cat would be around $800 dollars!!!?? Is that **** made of gold?! Sorry just got back and still a little upset. Are their any aftermarket cats that are cheaper and better? If any one has any ideas let me know or if you guys know where i could get a cat for my 225TT. Thanks

How many miles are on your car? If you have less than 77,000 miles, it's covered under a Federal warranty. You won't have to pay a dime to have it done. I suggest taking it to a private performance shop for the O2 sensors though. Unless you can do it yourself. If you have a lift you can use, it's pretty easy to do. I would definitely check on the CAT being covered under warranty though. I just had mine done.

More BS!! I took my car into another shop for a 2nd opinion and they came up with a MAF sensor gone bad. So i wasted all that money at the 1st place. I got a MAF for $90 and im installing it this weekend. If this dosen't do it im just driving this car into a building

I know the Audi here wanted $200 for their MAf and Ive seen them for sale on Ebay for $150 so Id check that MAF to make sure its not used and possibly bad.
