bad alternator or battery???
OK here we go again!! not the happiest 4th of july MY TT WOULDNT START i got a jump made it home tried to start it again no luck. went to autozone i was told that if the car was running while the battery was dead more likely the problem was a bad battery. so i bought a newbattery run my car for like 2 days and then my TT shut off on me this time got a jump AGAIN and didnt make it far before the car died. (all of this while the red battery icon was blinking) so got another jump charged the battery for like 15 mins.. made it to autozone to check my alternator they put those machines they have to check it and told me that it seemed like the alternator was working good.. so im confused i dont even know where to look for the problem now. they even exchanged the battery i had just bought to make sure they didnt sell me a bad battery.. drove home and everytime i hit a little bump on the road my red battery icon comes on and off. so maybe a loose cable???? HELPPPPPPPPPPPPP
Maybe a loose cable keeping your good alternator from charging your good battery I do a check of visable wires if you have done any modding or maintenance lately check around in those area's if you had to work around a wire maybe you knocked it loose check for wiring diagrams online.
Are all of your lights off I knocked a sensor off my brake pedal once and it made the brake lights stay on I didnt notice untill I went back out later

The same exact thing happened to me this weekend. However, I have to turn the key and hold it to start the car as if it's slow to start the engine. Is this happening to you as well? On the 3rd the battery was completely dead. I bought a brand new battery and the next day it died and I had to jump it. On the 4th my brake lights were on all night and I found it in the morning. I looked at both fuse panels (above the battery & in the dash) nothing found. Had to jump it again. Since then I've had the slow start problem. I have to turn the ignition and hold it there for a few seconds before it the engines fully starts up.
Thanks.
Thanks.
use a multimeter and check the voltage in the battery it should be above 12.5 volts engine not running, then start the engine and see if the volts go up to 14.5 ( less than 12 volts means alternator brushes worn so it cant charge the battery ) or it could be a bad connection from the alternator
