Default Been to the site, but Cant figure out ...how much the mod shack intake is!?

Hey guys,

I'm looking at upgrading a couple things.

My intake, Its killing my turbo!

I have a chip and exhaust...time for the intake, im considering the modshack intake as most suggest it.

How much is it?! I cant find the price anywhere.

Also My clutch is slipping and im replacing it...found a few good ones, found a stage 1 for $350 and a Stage 2 for $450..... should I just go with the stage 2? Will it hold up better?

Only mods im going to do:

Intake
Exhuast
Chip
Considering changing from the k03 turbo to the K04

Will the stage 2 be of any benifit? or will the stage one be fine?

you can always make your own for really cheap, all you need is a filter, breather filter, and if you want to move it further away from the engine get a 2.75" coupler and strait pipe or 3" for 225's. Can be done for less than $50-60.

Seems pretty simple to me... if you go to Modshack.info and click on the TTDA or VTDA links. If you look toward the bottom of those pages you'll see the pricing options below. There is some variability in the pricing based upon the configuration and options.

Im not the smartest person when it comes to cars.

I want the best modshack intake i can get, but i dont really understand what im buying and what kind of gains i'll see.

I dont care about color as its under my hood....

can one of you guys pick a intake for me? ...best proformance..etc

Also in that list there is a $10 part...that lowers your temp...what is that? where does it go? and will it really help?

Stock I have a 180 FWD TT

as of the 19th I would like to have the following done.

intake (modshack)
exhaust (borla)
APR chip (93 octaine)
stage one clutch
that VDA temp thing.

what kinds of hp/torque would you guess im running?

middle of december I would like to remove my k03 turbo with a k04 turbo

at that point what kind of hp/torque will I be running?

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Steve claims the vtda is better. You will see better throttle response but only a little increase in hp and torque

I dont care about color as its under my hood....

you get options just pick one you like best.

Im sure youll pick one out ok, all performance will be roughly equal

Also in that list there is a $10 part...that lowers your temp...what is that? where does it go? and will it really help?

it looks like it just seals off the engine heat from the end of the intake

intake (modshack)
exhaust (borla)
APR chip (93 octaine)
stage one clutch

what kinds of hp/torque would you guess im running?

add a 3" down pipe and run 20-22psi and you should right around 200whp and 220-230 ftlbs

middle of december I would like to remove my k03 turbo with a k04 turbo

at that point what kind of hp/torque will I be running?

ko4-001 maybe 15hp more and 20-30ftlbs more and a ko4-2x alot 230-240whp and close to 300 ftlbs

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The $10 piece is a pice of rubber trim for the driver side rear seal of the engine bay to the hood. You cut a pice of the thick stock rubber off and replace it with the thin rubber trim for $10. This allows some added cowl induction on the airbox side under the hood, which is good for an open element filter (such as the VTDA). Lower temperatures are never a bad thing though so I cut the stock strim off and just left the metal flange as is for the time being. The rubber piece is really just aesthetic, and you should be able to get it at most auto parts stores.

The VTDA Is a pretty good deal. the Neuspeed intake is only 30 bucks less and it's heat shield isn't as good on it.

The FWD version of the TT came with the 180bhp 1.8T?

I thought it was a 150bhp 1.8? Didn't know it came that way...
