Default Bentley ppl, I need help

The headliner on the panel with the trunklight on it (on the inside of the hatch) completely came off and exposed some nasty sticky orange layer.

How does this panel come off so I can fix it?
tried pulling, but it doesn't budge. looks like it goes underneath the plastic trim.

Thanks

Not positive, but I think you just pull. Don't jerk, but pull hard. Tabs should pop loose, but no guarantee they won't break.

x2, there are squeeze tabs, and I've never dealt with a panel w/o at least one tab breaking

I can relate to the "nasty sticky orange layer". The cloth liner over this hatch area has pulled away and I'm going to need to remove the plastic cover to tuck it all back in and reglue it. Not looking forward to it. Keep us posted on how you do yours. thanks

^ I was actually thinking of getting rid of the cloth and just strip off the sticky stuff, sand it, and paint it gray (interior color).
I won't have to worry about it coming off. looks to me like they used inferior material than the actual headliner.
