Default Best exhaust for a 00" 1.8T

I'm deathly afraid of having my car (2000 TT 1.8T Quattro) sound like my friends civic...
Does anyone have any sound clips of their exhaust?
Also I'm having a hard time finding parts... I want the whole shah-bang not from the catback.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

thanks,
Becca

I have a remus on my 180, you can hear the clip if you search on google video for audi tt dyno...that is my car on the dyno with a remus........(kinda hard to hear over the turbo though..)

Yeah that is the link.
The Remus was actually the cheapest exhaust, but great quality, it is put together well, and bolts right up with no problems. I ordered it off ebay, took awhile to ship from germany but worth it.
Good luck.....

that remus is just a cat-back....I haven't done anything else to the exhaust....
You have to buy the "front muffler" from them or you can get the straight pipe (it says for track use) for each of their exhausts and then you get the specific exhaust to fit your TT (FWD, 180, 225, Quattro, etc....)
The front section is the same for all TT's. If you are looking for one read carefully to see if the price does or doesn't include the front section....some will some won't.....

the downpipe and the front pipe that I am talking about are two different things. The "front pipe" (which may only be sold seperate from the rest of the exhaust on Remus systems) is still behind the cats. The stock and remus aftermarket have a small "front" muffler within this front pipe.
You have off of the engine-- the downpipe, then the cats, you could replace both of these as well if you wanted with hi-flows, this will make the total exahust cost double say 2-2.5k total, instead of 800-1k for a cat back.....
You may want to start with just the cat back, they are easy bolt ons, if you step up to buying hi-flow cats you may run into emisions trouble, and the downpipe is a pretty involved install. (I have not even looked into a downpipe)
