Bilstein PSS9 Ride Height Settings
Hey Folks,
Anyone know what the stock ride height settings are for the mk1 chassis and where you measure it? I recently installed my PSS9s and have all 4 corners set to just about the lowest perch settings for max lowering. I was surprised that it only dropped a 1/2" or so by my measurement account in comparison to the original height. I've read several threads that talk about care in going beyond a 3/4" as it changes the stock geometry enough that you can't properly align the rear without further mods and tearing thru cv boots as well.
What's the proper way to measure?
My stock suspension had seen 100K miles so I'm wondering if there was a lot of sag already so that I'm not really comparing new ride with old ride height.
I kept the helper springs in on the front and keep the stock pads in the rear. I figured without the pads, they'd be too noisy with the spring slamming the seats? The rear pads are not very thick but would account for nominal xtra height in the rear. That aside it was a straight forward install.
Thanks,
Ron
