Default blinkers act funny

Hi,

Both the left and right blinkers on my Audi TT 2000 began to act funny suddenly. For example, when I hit the left or right signal, the front, side, and back lights blink two times and then they stop blinking but they remain lit. Again, this happens for both the left or right signals. I tried the emergency flasher and that works ok. Can you help? Any ideas?

You probably need to replace the hazard flasher which controls the blinkers as well. Here's a write up on how to do it yourself.

You can get the part from a dealer or online from WorldImpex or ECSTuning or VAGparts.com

the hazard switch and relay are a single unit ( the button you press is that unit ) simply pry it out with a screw driver and replace with now

ORIGINAL: avant80@2.6

You don't pry it out with a screwdriver. There is a specific step by step to remove the radio and release the latch from the backside and it pops right out.
