Default Boost gauge on our stock instrument cluster

The other day I was scrolling through one of the audi forums and I saw that some had been able to put a boost gauge inside our instrument cluster. What I mean by the is the top part where it usually says tape or cd or FM, that part, he was able to show what boost he was at. Has anyone else done this? I will try to find the pic but it was awsome

funny enough, i was having a caht with a couple of audi guys, and they mentioned something about unlockign the computer to display the boost pressure on our instrument cluster.... they said somehting about flashing it with a programme. how one would do this i have no idea, i think its along the same lines. correct me if im wrong.

^ that is possible. you need to flash a program that detects psi/hg and have the value display on the electronic display in the cluster. i'd write the program but... my C++ sucks =P

Vag will read it, in like 4 different places (manifold, IC's, and some stuff I can't remember). I've run my laptop in the car to check boost pressure before. Suppose you could... if you feel like permanently attaching a laptop to the car.... feed it back out to an LCD display.

Dont know why everyone is obsessed with this....Becca. If you want a digital readout and at real time get a Zeitronix ZT-2 Wideband Air/Fuel Ratio Meter.

It will do:

Input/Output range

Lambda
1.43 to 0.64 Wideband

AFR
21.0 to 9.5 Wideband

Vacuum
25.5 in Hg

Boost
25.5 PSI

EGT
200C to 1200C

Analog Wideband Output
0 - 5V

Throttle Position
0 -100 %

RPM
0 - 10,000

User Input
0 - 5V

I'm doing it the hard way. Bought a Matrix Orbital vacuum florescent display, wiring it to a laptop, running vag, taking the info, sending to the VFD, and then projecting it thru a fresnel lens, off a mirror, and onto a piece of glass.

I'm stuck on the AR coating part, and the programming part. Any ideas?
