I dont have the car. I maypaint it since it will be off the engine and i will have time while its being built.
What kind of paint wouldbe best to use on the manifold?

I just used some spray can crinkle paint, not even high temp and it more than held up.

does priming the item necessary? (brake calipers)
what about all the plastic engine cover?
cincytt, all by hand.........
how long did it take to smooth it out?

Ive just done the valve cover as shown above. The valve cover should the hotter than the manifold so if it last there, it will easily do the job for the manifold.

cincytt, all by hand......... YES, PERVERT
how long did it take to smooth it out? ABOUT AN HOUR. WOULD TAKE ANOTHER 2 HOURS TO GET IT TO THE POINT OF POLISHING IT
