Default Bumper Valence (front plate)

Ok, I'd like to think i'm not "that stupid".

I need to put a front plate on my TT...stupid Ohio.

How does this valence up front come off?? By searching other posts and seeing the magnet plate mount, it looks like it's just a few clips that a rubberized flat head screw driver will pop out, but before I attempt that I'd like a better idea.

While I'm at it, has anyone used a generic plate mount? I bought a $5 one at pep boys and was going to see if I could make it work.

TIA!

The generic mount may work. Can't say that I've ever seen one.

And yes, the front valence cover comes off with just a screwdriver. Just don't be too aggressive, it will take a little force to pop the clips.

I refuse to mount a plate infront and the one time I got a fix-it ticket, I (gingerly) pulled off the front cover and had to drill two holes to properly center the plate. That day I took it to the PD andthey checked it off. I returned home, removed the plate andpressed the cover back on.So far, no new tickets....

Good point, however, going by that plan I would have used magnets and spared the holes

But let me add this...Say you got that fix-it ticket moments after leaving a formal dinner where you had a glass of wine or 2 beers while eating...Then things get interesting, and I don't want to know how interesting [:-]

(I don't drink and drive, or like the thought of it, but most business dinners/formal dinners with in-laws tend to have a tiny amount of alcohol served, just enough to get a DUI after being pulled over for something silly like a front plate or burned out bulb...)
