I want an Audi TT Roadster for about 10-13k too but everyone keeps telling me that if I buy a car over 50k miles that I am going to have a huge headache.

the only reason they say that is because 50+k is getting close to needing the timing belt service and that isnt cheap.

Depends if you do it yourself (about $300 and a weekend), or take it to a shop (anywhere from $600 - $1200).
If you're mechanically inclined look at some of the timing belt write-ups to get an idea of what's involved.
There are a ton of timing belt threads in the TT section. Just need to search for them.

People told me the same thing when I bought my TT but I bought it with 62k miles and it now has 99k and besides oil changes and spark plugs I've done no maintenance on it if I wasnt about to do a BT upgrade I would prolly change my timing belt since it is still on the origanal

If you find one you like for a good price that seems to be well cared for I would say to buy it.
and if it is around the timing belt mileage and the owner hasnt done it bring it up and see if he'll drop the price

lol, when I was looking at tt's eveyone was like "I don't know if the timing belt has been changed". I would change it regardless of their answer, unless they have a recept or some proof.
