Got a 2004 Roadster 225 quatro and the other day the remotes stopped working(both).
Changed batteries but no different so borrowed a cheap code reader from a neighbour and plugged in but it wouldn't communicate so took it to local garage who had the same problem, they used the vag com system but had no luck and basically said they couldn't do anything and it would need to go to dealers for a new ecu.
I had a look at the diagnostic plug and it looks to me that there are only four pins along the top row that are used, is this the normal set up, anyone any ideas as to why there is no communication
