Default Catalac converter .... remove!?

I have an idea.

My state does NOT enforce emissions laws. Meaning : They never check our autos :

If I remove my catalac converter, would I gain more horse power? Or would it decrease/stay the same... would it throw sensors? ...would it be louder?

Anyone have any ideas?

Louder, or deeper?

Loud is not one of my bigger interests... I actully want to rip everything out of the inside of my car, lay down dyno mat....put it back in...and have it be as quite as my benz

It will actually increase HP by making for a more free flowing exhaust. You will however, start to get a CEL from the post-cat O2 sensor or lack there-of. I don't think there is anyway around this unless someone has come up with an in-line resistor that you can put it in place to simulate the working cat.

i removed my cadillac converter, now my car remains an audi. [8D] sorry i had too.
I think you can get around the CEL by installing a new bung closer to the other o2.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that one. I had to to do it after I kept having CEL's after all of the intake upgrades I did on mine.
