My catalytic converter is coming apart internally causing a terrible rattling noise and a cel. Good excuse for a new dp and straight pipe. However have heard about a recall for VW catalytic converters and was wondering if anyone knows if this extends to Audi? If I could get replaced for free I would like to take advantage of it. I will also check with the stealership.

 

I called VW USA they said at this time they know of none....

 

I've done some more research and learned that because the cat is naturally part of the emissions system, the dealer is required by law to replace it for a specified time and mileage. In my case, time had expired.
So, it was a good excuse for a new 3" downpipe and test pipe. Cat Delete.

 

not sure why they would say that!? Its a known fact vw has a cat recall.

 

Certain models are a known problem.
The EPA deems it a "Recall."
The dealer may be diluting it to an "Extended Warranty."

 

yes she did say their was a extension on the window clips that fail LOL

and she may have just used my 03' jetta as well.....

I do know that 42DD has a sale going on their 3" down pipes 10% off and free shipping maybe one of the sponsors on here actually carry them. good until 10/23/2010 I believe to me it is the best for a TT 225 as I have one of those as well.... Thanks on the info as by LAW I well check that out
