Default CD changer stopped working??? ipod???

The factory 6 - disk changer just stopped working, i ejected the cartridge, changed cd's now it wont go back in, like i push it in, but it doesn't engage?????? any ideas? I am pudshing it in in the right orientation.

also i looked on Crutchfield and they say there is no IPOD adapter for this car?is that true? can i remove the cd changer and get an IPOD adapter instead?

thanks for any help

Not true - I have a DICE I-Audi-R/5V Ipod adapter that I got from Crutchfield. Depends of course on which radio/deck/headunit you have. The CD changer behind the seat will be disconnected and no longer function when using the adapter. The adapter connects to the back of the head unit.

Yeah you can run an iPod. I have my iPhone mounted in the visor. I got rid of my changer a long time ago. That thing is garbage.

dunno why mine did that too.. right before a trip to Vegas, through the desert =no radio reception..
Ended up getting a new one when there was a deal somewhere for $55 for the changer and new cartridge.

weird...new guy here and I have that same issue. I just bought the car and the girl told me that she didn't know how to use the CD changer so i thought i may have been something simple. So when i load the cartridge with CD can put it in the changer it doesn't stay in (engage if you will). I tried to look at the mechanics of how it worked figure it out but still no luck here.
