Changing turbo?
Ok so here is the deal I am wondering if I can put ATP's GT28RS turbo on my 225 audi tt, in the stock K04's place? I allready have the GIAC chip done, forge dv, with modshack stage II and FPR, and new intake hose. I am planning on doing the forge FMIC. I am wondering if anyone knows how much boost the stock internals will hold. If I have too I will get the forged pistons and rods if needed. I would like to end up with about 350 whp. Thanks for any info.
ok. i've actually talked to the guys at ecodetuning. they tell me that its a really hard setup. thats the turbo and you dont get any plumping. so your on your own when it comes to actually fitting it in the stock location. also you'll need some company to write the ecu software to handle the new turbo. as of right now there is no company that has done it. as far as the stock internals i think this 225 motor can handle somewhere around 300-350hp at 18psi fairly easy. but i cant say for sure. the apr turbo kit pushes the 225 motor up to 386 hp but i dont know what psi it is at when its hitting. i know all of this because i wanted to do the same thing. the apr kit are around 6800 bucks but they do come with eveything you need including new manifold and front mount.
Ok so what if I am to run the k04 at 20psi with, do the forged internals and put a 100 shot on it? Of course with doing everything rite and not getto riggin everything do you think it is possible to hit 350whp?
very possible. but i'm the type that would upgrade just to upgrade them.(internals)
you can see by my mods i care more about the life of my engine and parts than performance. dont get me wrong i love the performace mods and doing them myself but you gotta make sure the car is able to handle everything extra that your adding.(COMMON SENSE)
cant go wrong upgrading the engine but its a of work and after dropping this tranny, i think i'll pay to have someone do any work that is more complex than this. and you better believe doing the pistions and rings and connecting rods would be a nightmare for any skilled person. let alone a 20 year old like myself

Yea I mean I have done internals on a few cars and an engine is an engine wether its a chevy 350 or a audi tt the principals are the same it seems. But thanks for the info, I really just want my car to be able to beat some modded mustang gt's, GTO's, you know those guys with the typical muscle car. Thanks for the info.
Our engines should hold up to 25 psi after that stock internals get finiky mine is at 23psi at max boost on a k03 turbo
Your biggest bang for your buck would be a new head replacement or rebuild it will easily get you 100 hp more
if I added a 100 shot to my system I could easily beat GTO's and GT's all day ...till my bottle runs out
