Have you read the FAQ at the top of the forum?

I have and I've learned pretty much what I already know about the chip. I was just looking for any personal experiences rather than whats on paper about good or bad things that have happened. Also, can I bump up the boost with the manual boost controller even with the chip? Or is it more of a pre-chip thing?

I've looked all over this site and have read pretty much avery post that is saved on this site in regards tothe mod(s) I am interested in.

Where is the search field? I'm sure it'd be easier then navigating the site one page at a time.

There are a few around that have the OCT chip. More common are APR, GIAC, and REVO. I've personally had an APR chip in mine for over 3 years without a problem. The differences between the chips are small, more important is to find a local shop that supports one of them. Of course, you can go the mailorder route with any one of them.

A better way to turn up the boost level on a chipped car is with a Boost Machine

Seems overpriced to me, but you pay to be different you know. I'm personally looking at http://wetterauer.dedue to it being local but they want 700 Euro basically a Thousand clams for the same power as an APR or GIAC chip, I have a hard time with that. I'll go sweet talk them soon and see if I can get it cheaper but I don't know. Jabbasport told me 368 US including Shipping and they have a good rep with the UK bunch. APR has a dealer in Berlin but it's freaking like 6 hour's drive. Wettarauer installs it and does a before and after dyno and does a custom tweak to the tune on the second run. Sounds like it's worth it to me, but I want a downpipe and exhaust before I go with a custom tune you know.

I had GIAC flash program my 225 last week. So far, really like it and no problems. Tons of boost (21psi peak) and torque you can really feel. Cost was $495 plus $50 for the install. Only other mods so far (in order) are the K & N drop-in, boost gauge (must have), Hyperboost DV and I modified the airbox.

Being kinda "out in the sticks" Giac or APR meant a 100-mile ride either way.
I'd like to do a downpipe and Borla exhaust, but I've tapped my fun stuff budget for the time being.

Is this a Euro Chip? I've heard to not mess around with them if you have a US Spec car. The Europeans have higher octane fuel availableto them and if you cna't find 95 octane you'll have issues.
