I'm looking at a 2001 TT Quattro 180hp. I read several sources that say it's possible to increase to a 225hp by changing a chip uder the hood. Is this possible for the 2001 model?

 

Well here's what I did today. I've got a 2001 Audi TT 180 too. Love the car. Went to a local dealer and had the ecu reprogrammed. The shop is using "REVO" tuning software. It took about 10 minutes and I was off and running. My car it 100% stock except now for the ecu tunning. The shop told me about 215 hp and 240/245 tq. Needless to say it really woke the car up! Now there is a kick in the pants feel we you step on it.. Well worth the $$ I say.

 

Ditto! It made a Big difference in how the car reacts and feels overall!
I have the 225HP and they say it increased the Power to 260HP and 289lbs of torque.
And yes you can feel the difference ;-)
I highly recommend it to anyone with a 1.8T engine.
