Default Clutchy.

Got remapped & d/p is still sitting in the shop (lazy). So after my co worker found out he asked me to take the pepsi challenge (Evo MR vs. TT)... yea anyway. Week later clutch is finally blown. So anyone ever done their clutch before? Hold long it take you because alldata says 12hrs. Any blots & such that are one time use bolts, or how much fuild does the tranny take? I'm thinking of just letting my guy do it otherwise I might never want to drive it again. Also what aftermarket clutch & flywheel is everyone using? I'm thinking of either Eurospec (Lightweight cast flywheel, dual diaphragm cover, steel back 228mm disc, clamp load 790 KG - $1k - Side note what's the difference between steel back & sintered?) or VF Eng-Clutchmaster (Stage 3) or a Spec. Any thoughts, thanks?

not sure the performance difference, but I can tell you about the sintering process. It's a little like making a sand castle.
Take some powdered metals, press them really hard, add some heat. Metals stick together. Note, they dont melt (or not all metals in the mix are melted). Sometimes used for materials that won't mix on their own if you tried to melt them together. Self lubricating brass bearings are usually sintered (leaves it very porous so oil can be trapped in the voids).

Off the top of my head, I can't think of any obvious gains in a sintered, but I don't know the technology that much either. I have a semester of Manufacturing Processes, and that be it.

Spec blows dont go that route. My brother has one in his MR2 and he hates it... I have read people use Spec clutches and they grab hard but i have read alot of people spin them and over all are not good. You will also get alot of chatter from it.
