Default Cockpit Noise

Anyone experiencing excessive noise anytime the wheels are rolling. I thought it was probably the tires but with new tires it is still a very loud interior. This is a 2001 TT coupe and it only has 47,000 miles. It sits in the garage all winter. So it sits for four or five months. Im just wondering if this noise is developed due to the fact that it sits all winter. Anyone with a simular problem? Thanks for any suggestions you might have!

Could be the hatch, shifter, ashtray, or countless other parts that have the potential to vibrate.
The hatch rattle does kinda grow on ya after awhile...

What type of noise ? Rumbling, grinding, whistling, chattering etc....

Being it sits for long periods, any chance the calipers are sticking/pads dragging?

Probably tires, but no idea. Can you describe the noise?

We do have it well for " Road noise " compared to many car owners. - However I will agree there is an excessive amount of UNNEEDED noise in the TT. - I can hear the road, I hear the engine, random rattles from door panels...etc. - I'm sure alot of it I could fix with dynomat, or simply going back in and tweeking a few things.

My issue is. - I shouldn't HAVE to. - This is a $40,000 car brand new. - Its a TOY. - Not a sedan, not a machine loaded with all sorts of gizmo's....its just a coupe thats quick with brilliant styling. - Along those lines for that kind of money, it should be quieter. - However keep in mind, I'm accustomed to driving my 04 A8L and my 745i. - Which are DEAD slient on the inside. - High speeds or low speeds.

I'm sure though honestly, its loud because they saved alot of weight on the sound proofing material.
